Relief Fund Established for Trooper Chapman

Trooper Chapman
Trooper K.S. Chapman

A relief fund has been established to aid Trooper Kristopher S. Chapman and his family during Kris’ extensive recovery from injuries sustained Saturday night, Feb. 2, 2008. While sitting in his patrol vehicle following a traffic stop on Interstate 81 in Smyth County, Trooper Chapman was struck by a drunk driver and severely injured.

Donations are to be sent to the following address:

   Trooper Kris Chapman Relief Fund
   Bank of Marion, Chilhowie Branch
   PO Box 1560
   Chilhowie, Virginia 24319

Checks are to be made payable to the "Trooper Kris Chapman Relief Fund."

Trooper Chapman underwent surgery today and is listed in serious but stable condition at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. We are keeping Kris, his wife, Susan, and their two young children in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
