Officer Oswald

California Highway Patrol Officer Brett Oswald died in the line of duty on Sunday, June 27, 2010. He was killed when he was struck by a vehicle at the scene of an abandoned vehicle. He had called for a tow truck and was waiting next to his patrol car, when a passing vehicle crossed the double yellow lines and struck the patrol car causing major injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Officer Oswald, 47, had served with the California Highway Patrol for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Marlena; mother, Linda; and father, Richard.

Please join the men and women of the American Association of State Troopers in keeping the family of Officer Oswald and the men and women of the California Highway Patrol in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
