Tri-state enforcement efforts keep highways safe

Troopers from Washington, Montana and Idaho

Tpr. Joe Leibrecht of the Washington State Patrol, Tpr. Keith Danhoff of the Montana Highway Patrol, and Tpr. George Phillips of the Idaho State Police, pictured left to right, were among troopers from the three agencies who joined efforts for a Super Bowl emphasis patrol to help keep highways safe on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3.

Troopers from the three agencies hosted a press conference the end of January to announce the initiative and to discuss strategies on how motorists could help keep highways safe on Super Bowl Sunday.

“As long as people continue to die at the hands of impaired drivers, officers will continue to aggressively locate, arrest, and remove those impaired drivers from your highways,” the Multi-Agency Partnership stated in a media release, adding that motorists could expect to see extra tri-state patrols on I-90 that connects the three states.

The three agencies look forward to other joint enforcement efforts throughout the year to help protect motorists traveling the busy I-90 strip.
