Winn Dixie Foundation supports AAST Scholarship Foundation
To celebrate the grand opening of the remodeled Winn-Dixie at 111-39 South Magnolia Drive, Tallahassee, Florida, the Winn-Dixie Foundation donated $10,000 to the American Association of State Troopers Scholarship Foundation . The AAST Scholarship Foundation was established by the Board of Directors of the American Association of State Troopers, Inc., and incorporated in August 1990. It is designated a 501(c)3 charitable foundation. The AAST Scholarship Foundation was established to raise funds to provide scholarships for the dependents of AAST trooper members. Since 1990, the AASTSF has awarded over $1.8 million to 2,451 deserving students to support their educational endeavors. The Winn Dixie Foundation has a long tradition of supporting the communities in which they live and work, and the idea of neighbors helping neighbors is very important to them. According to the Winn Dixie Foundation, "We are honored to be associated with those who do so much for our community, and thrilled to help you realize your mission." The $10,000 donation will be used to help provide educational scholarships for the 2009/10 school year to AAST members' children in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
