The invitation read: Come join us for an evening of fun and fellowship. We want you to be part of a continuing tradition of camaraderie.

Fun, fellowship, and camaraderie are exactly what troopers experience each year at the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Virginia State Police dinner. This year the annual event was held in May in Roxboro, N.C., with about 200 active and retired troopers in attendance. AAST was proud to help host the event.

North Carolina attorney Charlie Hubbard, third from right, was recognized by both the Virginia State Police and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and named an honorary trooper for his continued support of troopers during the annual dinner. “One of the primary missions of AAST is to develop ‘strong bonds of nationwide trooper camaraderie,’” AAST Executive Director Ken Howes said. “This annual multi-department dinner is an ideal opportunity for us to foster this mission.”

In past years, the dinner has incorporated shooting competitions and raffle fundraisers. The two departments rotate hosting the dinner, with Virginia on tap to play host next year. AAST will be ready once again to help sponsor the fellowship dinner.
