Scholarship Foundation Donation OpportunitiesMake a lasting gift for future education and training . . . consider a planned gift. What is a planned gift? A planned gift is a voluntary gift of any kind, in any amount. It is usually coordinated by a qualified professional, such as a CPA or attorney. Some friends of AAST may choose to remember the Association in their will, or name AAST as the beneficiary to a life insurance policy. Still others may choose to leave a special annual gift or unique donation to honor a loved one or commemorate a life event. Why planned gifts make such a lasting impact … Planned giving makes a tremendous lasting impact because they enable AAST to fund education and training for troopers and their dependents through scholarships, workshops, equipment purchases, and special projects that could not happen otherwise. How planned gifts show your commitment … Anyone – regardless of stage or station in life – can be a major help by joining those who have pledged gifts both large and small. It is a simple but important way of standing with AAST and affirming extra support to protect and nurture the Association for future generations of law enforcement officers and their families. When is the right time to make a planned gift? With the advent of the AAST Scholarship Foundation, the time has never been better to start thinking about arrangements for a lasting gift you have in mind. Those who commit to a gift will be recognized and commemorated with a framed plaque certificate, enrollment in the AAST Scholarship Foundation donors list, and receive important publications of the organization. Is my gift tax deductible? YES. The AAST Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization and as a result all donations are fully deductible to the extent provided by law. You should consult your accountant or attorney for additional advice. Tell me more! I am interested in making a planned gift to the American Association of State Troopers Scholarship Foundation. Call, write, or email Ken Howes, Executive Director (ken@statetroopers.org), to receive more information on making a planned gift. |
