To provide assistance to America's State Troopers, their children and dependents by providing educational scholarships and opportunities.
The American Association of State Troopers Scholarship Foundation was established by the Board of Directors of the American Association of State Troopers, Inc., and incorporated in August 1990. It is designated a 501(c)3 charitable foundation. The AAST Scholarship Foundation initially was established to raise funds to provide scholarships for the dependents of AAST trooper members. Since it was established, the AAST Scholarship Foundation has awarded over $1.7 million to 2,271 students to support their educational endeavors.
At the most recent board meeting of the AAST Scholarship Foundation, the board members agreed that as the success of fund raising program progressed, the mission of the Foundation would be expanded to eventually include support for training of active troopers and to provide other means of assistance with furthering state law enforcement officers' professional training and education.
