MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A state police trooper helps to save the life of a child who became unresponsive.
Just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sergeant R. R. Cervera was performing road patrol work on Interstate-81 near exit 16, when a woman pulled up to the front of his cruiser.
The woman got out of her car and told Cervera her three-year-old son was unresponsive in her vehicle. Sergeant Cervera quickly went to the vehicle and observed the child as being ‘unresponsive and fevered.’
Cervera drove the child and his mother to Berkeley Medical Center. The boy was revived by medical personnel. He was admitted to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
